Ronald L. Geren, FCSI, Lifetime Member, CCS®, CCCA®
CSI’s highest honor is being presented to Ronald L. The ceremony will take place Oct. 5 during CSI’s National Conference in Minneapolis, Minn.
Distinguished Membership is the most prestigious honor CSI offers. The CSI Board of Directors confers this distinction to those members who have performed continuous, distinguished services to the construction industry in fields of activity related to the purposes of the Institute.
Ron joined CSI in 1999 and his distinguished service began on day one. The recipient of numerous professional honors and awards, he has been a force of reason and determination within CSI. When Ron has seen a need for change or leadership, “he has simply and quietly stepped up and provided what was needed to accomplish the goals,” said colleague and fellow CSI member Neil Davison, RA, FCSI, CCS®, CCCA® Ron lead the effort to ensure the orderly transition from a board focused on the day-to-day operations of CSI to a strategic entity that is leading the organization into the future. He then stepped up to serve as CSI’s first board chair.
Ron is active in education at all levels, often presenting at chapter meetings and lecturing for graduate-level courses at institutions of higher education. He has been a significant influence on countless CSI members, architecture students, and others working in the construction industry. In addition to serving as lead author and technical reviewer of several CSI publications, he also has contributed to the advancement of construction technology through his numerous articles and books on specification writing, the building code, and the construction industry. CSI is proud to honor Ronald L. Geren with Distinguished Membership.
