Bio

Anne is a nationally known specifications writer with more than 36 years of experience on projects ranging from a residential garage remodel (budget $30,000) to multi-building complexes including sports facility; housing; office and retail (budget: approx $6 billion). While her "work product" is a project manual, she believes strongly that the specifications are a tool to refine and manage the entire architectural project.

Anne's expertise is in health care; laboratories; complex, phased projects; and front end documents. She is experienced in public projects of long duration and complex programming. She has performed third party reviews for contract documents; consulted with national firms to provide guide specifications, and served as member and chair of the AIA Masterspec Architectural Review Committee.

In addition, Anne was the youngest chapter president of the Seattle (Puget Sound) chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute; either taught or organized their specifications classes for 20 years; and has served in both NW Region and Institute capacities. She was elevated to Fellow in 2006, one of fewer than 400 nationally to hold this honor.

Now entering "the third phase" of her career, Anne is known for mentoring younger colleagues and advising architects regarding bidding strategies, product selection; construction strategy and construction industry connections. She also advises national product companies on sales and marketing to the architectural community, and consults on specifications for them. She counts many product representatives as long-time friends and colleagues and is known for being well connected nationally.

Specialties: Health care; laboratory facilities; phased projects; complicated interior projects; and "front end" documents.
Primary markets: west coast of the US; but has worked on projects across the country.
