Phil Kabza, FCSI, CCS, AIA is technical leader and partner for SpecGuy, publisher of the CSI award-winning CDT One Day at a Time! and CDT One Week at a Time! education programs. Phil has over 35 years of industry experience as a carpenter builder, architect, specifier, and instructor; his areas of expertise include building envelope performance, construction document and contract administration best practices, and risk management. Phil has managed the development of AIA MasterSpec Division 00 and Division 01 for the past decade. He is a member and past Chair of the AIA MasterSpec Architectural Review Committee, a former columnist and Editorial Advisory Board member for The Construction Specifier, and a frequent contributor to industry forums and publications. Phil is a Fellow of the Construction Specifications Institute and a member of Specifications Consultants in Independent Practice. He spends his spare time on fitness activities, working on wildlife habitat restoration in his community, and trying to catch up on his neglected reading list.
