While in the past we have focused typically on the more experienced professionals, this year we are looking to our future. We are seeing that college programs are not preparing our students for their careers as they have previously. The basic knowledge of how buildings are constructed is lacking and thus Methods & Materials Mania was born.
This one day, hands-on program, is intended to demonstrate to our emerging professionals what those lines on paper really mean. We want our attendees this year to walk away with a better understanding of materials and the correct applications of products and we need your help.
What does this change of format mean to you as a traditional product show vendor? Unlike previous years where you stand at your display and talk to attendees, we are going to have eight different focus areas where exhibitors work together to discuss the application of their products with hands-on demonstrations. Attendees will rotate through all eight sections throughout the day in fifty minute increments.
The areas of focus will be:
- Exterior – masonry, envelope, windows, doors, and roofing
- Interior – walls/doors, flooring, and ceilings
At lunch, there will be an opportunity for a traditional tabletop display if you would prefer that option or your product doesn’t fall into one of the categories above. We will be inviting the more experienced members of the design and construction industry to this lunch as well to mingle with the attendees and vendors at the tabletop displays.
Registration information for the various options are below, including sponsorships. To access a PDF with descriptions of each, click here. Once we have our registered exhibitor participants, we will have separate meetings with each category to determine what will be reviewed in each session and what will be required for the demonstration portion.
As we see this as our new version of a product show, we will likely focus on different areas for next year to encourage emerging professionals to attend multiple years. This is your opportunity to become a trusted advisor for these emerging professionals and to create a long-term relationship with them.
