Our March program, “Resilient Roofing – Meeting the ASCE 7-16 Standard,” builds on this year’s theme “Codes and Standards” with a detailed look at one specific aspect of a broadly applied technical standard that forms an essential part of the building code. Learning objectives are:

  • Provide an overview of the ASCE 7 standards and geographic adoption
  • Review and contrast the changes of the new ASCE 7-16 standard
  • Gain a working knowledge of wind speeds impact on design and installation practices
  • Understand how the ASCE 7-16 standard affects roof installation methods
  • Explain how wind speeds relate to wind design practices and warranty coverage

Our presenter is Robert Anderson from Elevate, formerly Firestone, now a part of Holcim Building Envelope, manufacturers of a diverse line of roofing solutions.

Thanks to Elevate, and to their local representatives Roofing Sales Associates (and our own chapter director Kevin Geil) for sponsoring the food and drink this month.

This seminar provides 1.0 LU/HSW credit from AIA-CES to all who attend in person at the Masonry Institute or online via Zoom. Our chapter meetings this year are free and open to all.
