Happy National Volunteer Week! To celebrate the occasion, CSI would like to give a resounding round of applause to all our current and past volunteers. All week, we are putting the spotlight on CSI members who go the extra mile for their colleagues and the built community at large.

Today’s spotlight is on Magdalena Landmann, CSI, who volunteers to help with exam reviews.

How did you get involved in the architecture, engineering, construction, and owner (AECO) industry, and what is your specific area of interest?
Architecture is something I have always been interested in. I enjoy designing spaces for people to enjoy. I also really enjoy the construction administration aspect of architecture. I like seeing what is drawn on paper become reality. The firm I work for focuses on designing senior communities.

How did you decide to share your time and expertise to volunteer for the benefit of other AECO professionals to help them reach their goals?

I decided to volunteer to become more involved in the profession and to learn about other people’s views on the profession.

Why is the work you do as a volunteer important to you?
The work I do as a volunteer is important to me because it allows me to learn about other people's experiences. In addition, volunteering has helped me learn more about the profession.

Why do you think other members might want to consider volunteering?
I think other members might enjoy meeting other people in the profession and learning from them.

Favorite book or binge-worthy TV?
The Harry Potter series.

Favorite hobbies?
Quilting, figure skating, and, reading.
