Support your fellow exam candidates and grow your professional network by leading a virtual peer study group. No subject matter expertise required, just a willingness to facilitate group discussion with your peers who are sitting for a CSI certification exam during the same cycle.
CSI candidate-driven peer study groups are a space for exam candidates to ask questions of their peers and support each other in exam preparation, like meeting in the library to study together. Candidates can use this time to share study tips, aha moments, and pain points as they prepare to sit for a CSI exam. These groups differ from a preparation course in that they do not have a set curriculum or content led by a subject matter expert. Volunteer leaders schedule meet up times, distribute call information, and identify topics for peer conversations. Volunteer leaders are not, however, expected to guide their fellow participants through any formal course material.
Responsibilities:
- Attend a kick-off call with CSI staff
- Coordinate weekly virtual study group meetings via Google Meet (or platform of your choice)
- Facilitate group discussions and encourage participation from fellow studiers
- Keep calls on schedule (start and end on time)
- Review the online community forum and reply/interject with information relevant to study group meetings/topics
- Serve as a liaison between participants and CSI staff
Eligibility / Qualifications:
- Must be registered to sit for a CSI Certification exam during the Spring 2021 cycle
- Must be comfortable using a virtual meeting platform (starting meetings, sharing screen, etc.)
- Must be comfortable facilitating group discussions
Time Commitment:
- 1 Hour: Attend volunteer kick-off call during the end February 2021
- 9 Hours: Host weekly study group sessions March 1 – May 2, 2021 (1 hour/week for 9 weeks)
- As Needed: Review the online community forum and reply/interject with information relevant to study group meetings/topics
Selected volunteers may claim up to 2 LUs per year for CSI Volunteerism.
