Do you love to discuss all aspects of project delivery? Help lead conversation in the NEW Project Delivery Practice online community!
CSI current has two successful online communities specifically focused on vital practices within a construction project (Specifying and Contract Administration). In addition to an online community space for sharing experiences and questions, each practice community hosts a monthly, educational or instructional webinar on topics specifically requested by community members or immediately relevant to the day-to-day activities of the community’s members.
For 2019, CSI is introducing a new practice community dedicated to general practices of project delivery.
The community will focus on the many different delivery types including:
- Design-Bid-Build
- Design-Bid
- Construction Manager as Risk
- Integrated Project Delivery
- Public/Private-partnership
The community discussion will focus on how each method changes the development of construction documents, bidding, contracts, and overall timing.
As with other CSI communities, a large element of engagement will come through online discussion threads and sharing of personal experiences. We are looking for several experienced professionals to help in the facilitation and engagement of those discussion threads.
CSI will be offering monthly, online learning session to address relevant topics suggested by members of the community. Working as a small team, facilitators can either offer to host the monthly session (if the topic is something they address regularly in their day-to-day work) or assist in identifying appropriate guest speakers who can serve as subject matter experts on the topic being requested.
Deliverable #1: Provide input and guidance to questions asked on the Project Delivery Practice Community forum.
Deliverable #2: Identify, offer feedback on, and/or share additional learning tools and resources that may be helpful for fellow community members.
Deliverable #3: Facilitate at least 2 (of 10 total) monthly, online topic sessions, and/or assist in identifying a subject matter expert who can appropriately facilitate a learning session on topics brought forth by community members.
The facilitators will have approximately 3-4 hours of work per month.
Who should Apply?
CSI members who are in the process of obtaining or already hold the CDT, with an active profile on CSIresources.org. Must have availability to and comfort with participating in online learning programs via Zoom Meeting or similar platform.
