Without properly crafted specifications, a designer’s intent for a project can easily be lost. In an effort to ensure construction specifications continue to be developed and used at a high level, CSI is looking for a few experienced professionals, also known as SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to help craft a multi-part learning program that introduces the fundamentals of writing, reading, and using specifications.
The learning series will address content from the very basic aspects of what are the different types of specifications and how they are used on a project, but also touch on intermediate aspects of modifying and creating new specifications for office masters and individual projects.
Volunteers for this opportunity will work with CSI staff to layout a logical learning path, craft outlines and scripts for recorded presentations, identify secondary learning content (readings, videos, podcasts, etc.), and review basic learner outcomes to be assessed upon completion. Additionally, CSI may ask volunteers to assist in the recording of developed learning sessions to be used for on-demand learning and/or hosting of live learning events that would allow for audience input and Q&A.
Deliverable #1: Volunteers will work together with CSI staff to develop an outline and presentation decks for identified learning content (expected to be 6-8 unique sessions).
Deliverable #2: Volunteers will aid in research and identification of secondary learning resources to be suggested alongside newly developed content.
Deliverable #3: Volunteers will assist in development of short knowledge assessments tied to each learning content item in order to confirm retention of main learning elements.
Deliverable #4: Volunteers may be asked to assist in the recording and/or hosting of developed learning content for online learning and on-demand programming.
