CSI first launched member-driven practice communities in 2008. For the last decade the Specifying Practice Community has been co-led by David Stutzman and Louis Medcalf. Under their efforts the group hosted over 100 monthly sessions and touched on a number of topics that directly impact professionals who write, read, or work with construction specifications.
For 2020, CSI is looking to find new leaders to assist in monthly sessions in addition to supporting more direct communication and support through the online Specifying Practice Community (https://www.csiresources.org/communities/community-home?CommunityKey=2a83a24b-2704-4da8-860a-8552c3be4df3).
Practice Community Co-leaders should be comfortable with using the CSI online community platform for starting and replying to discussion threads, be comfortable with online presentations, and have direct experience and knowledge of the creation and use of construction specifications and other construction documentation.
Deliverable #1: Each co-leader is asked to lead or facilitate at least two online sessions on topics identified by the community or as follow-up to discussions within the community or previous monthly sessions.
Deliverable #2: All co-leaders are asked to assist in the creation and support of online discussions from members of the Specifying Practice Community through CSIresources.com.
Deliverable #3: Co-leaders may be asked to give input and insight on additional knowledge resources related to the practice of construction specifications that CSI maintains/develops.
*** CSI Membership not required but active CSI Members are preferred.
*** If you are an active CSI Volunteer, you will not be eligible to serve in 2 roles concurrently.
