Applying the Building Code – Part 2 with Ron Geren, FCSI, Distinguished Member
The building code and its complementary codes are not organized in a logical sequence that can be applied intuitively during building design. Although organized into chapters of related requirements, each chapter of the building code contains requirements of varying degrees of specificity—some are applicable to early design stages. In contrast, others are more appropriate for consideration as the design nears completion. This session presents a step-by-step overview of the code requirements to be considered during each of the standard design phases: schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
