I would like to introduce myself. I am Billy J. Mathis, FCSI, CDT. Many of you already know me from other experiences, gatherings, and committees. I have volunteered to act as interim Awards Chair for the Gulf States Region for 2023 and 2024 while the Region Board recruits and trains a new Chair. In as much, I think that March 1 would be to little time for me to get a grasp on where we are in Awards and since I apparently have the ability to reset that date, I would like to announce that the new Date for Awards Nominations to be received at the Region is now midnight, April 28, 2023. That should give everyone time to get busy and get packages together to properly thank and recognize the many people out there who deserve the public acknowledgement of their contributions.
