The recently elected CSI Board of Directors began their term July 1. Here, in their own words, they discuss their history with the association, how it has benefited their professional experience, and the immediate and long-term opportunities they see for CSI in the years to come.
Meet Patrick Comerford, CSI, CCPRTM, CDT®, the new Board Director from West Division.
How did you first become involved with CSI, and how has that helped your professional experience grow?
The Spec writer for K-12 school firm said he wouldn’t see me anymore until I joined CSI. It was the single best ‘bullying’ I have received in my career.
What are your goals as a member of the CSI Board?
Align CSI with other professional groups to focus on project performance consistency using CSI Certification principles.
What are the top opportunities you see for CSI?
Using/leveraging CSI robust certifications to lead the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner) industry in better project outcomes.
What do you feel are the top resources that CSI provides?
Certification courses provide standard operating procedures for the entire AEC.
Do you have a favorite project or work experience you would like to share?
WRCSI CDT Training for Groups was an initiative I started with the region several years ago and it has been rewarding to chair this group of instructors.
Is there anything else you would like your fellow members to know?
I enjoy working with others to accomplish things I would not be able to perform as an individual.
