Heidi Cervantes Spotlight

Heidi_Cervantes_-_sized.jpgBorn and raised of Mexican descent on the Northwest side of Chicago, Architecture fascinated Heidi Cervantes as she was growing up. Her love of drawing, arts and crafts, and hands on projects lead her to pursue a career in Architecture. Heidi has over 15 years of experience in Residential and Commercial Architecture. She has been a member of various organizations such as The National Association of Professional Women, Dare to Dream, CREW, IWLA, and Near South Planning Board. Heidi has been at FitzGerald since 2012 and received the 2018 CSI Chicago CDT scholarship and become a member of CSI Chicago.

Throughout her Architectural career, she has challenged herself to gain hands on experience and think outside the box. It’s important to be proactive and seize networking opportunities where she may grow and learn from others and build relationships. With patience, hard work and optimism in mind, great things happen. She believes that passion makes us unique and drives us to succeed in whatever we pursue. It is the element that elevates us from being good designers to great Architects and respected individuals.

When Heidi isn’t designing, you can find her enjoying a variety of Martial Arts activities. She enjoys UFC fighting and MMA. Throughout college, she participated in Tae Kwon Do Capoeira classes. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music. Its safe to say she’s someone you want with you when walking down a dark alley.

Heidi’s other love is photography and videography. She’s even had the opportunity to capture several weddings, a quinceniera, and a few birthday parties!
