Award Recipients to be Recognized at CONSTRUCT 2015 & The Annual CSI Convention

Alexandria, Va. (July 21, 2015) - CSI will present several awards at CONSTRUCT 2015 & The CSI Annual Convention in St. Louis. The CSI Awards Ceremony will take place 9:30-10:30 am, Friday, October 2. Register for this free event at www.constructshow.com.

Communication Award: Presented to a CSI member, chapter, region or group for outstanding effort in the communication of CSI related topics and activities. This award has three categories: continuing publications, electronic publications, and special publications.

The Construction Specifier Magazine Article of the Year Award: Recognizes an article and its authors for relevance to the industry as a whole, readability, impact, and alignment with CSI's mission and technical standards and formats. Recipients: Chuck Mears, Ryan Rademacher, Sheri Carter, and Michael Chusid, RA, FCSI, CCS, for "Cold-formed Steel Framing Gets Complicated" – February 2015.

Outstanding Contribution Award: Presented to a CSI member, chapter, region or group that has made commendable contributions to the goals of the Institute. It recognizes contributions above and beyond those normally performed as part of a chapter, region, or Institute officer, committee or member. Recipient: Andrew "John" Murray, Jr., CSI, CDT.

Technical Document Award: Presented to an individual, chapter, region or group for a single outstanding accomplishment in technical writing other than project specifications. Recipient The Chicago Chapter Technical Committee.

Robert P. Brosseau Award for the Advancement of CSI: Presented to a CSI member who has rendered outstanding service to further the mission and programs of the Institute. Recipient Anne Marie Roeper, CSI, CCPR.

Andrew J. Drozda Academic Programs Award: Presented to a CSI member, chapter, region or group that has worked with an institution of higher education offering a construction-related curricula and has made significant contributions to enhance the image and recognition of CSI within the educational institution(s), or has significantly contributed to preparing students in construction-related curricula to make a difference in the construction community. Recipient: Dean Lamb, CSI.

J. Norman Hunter Award for Construction Document Education: Presented to a CSI member, chapter, region or group for promoting or developing and implementing construction documents education. It recognizes education efforts beyond those described in an operating guide for the Institute, region and/or chapter. The nominee shall have achieved a level exceeding the expected results in attendance, education or certification for a specific program well above the norm for the chapter, region or Institute. Recipient: Dennis Kabba, CSI, CCS.

Hans William Meier Award for Advancement of Certification Programs: Presented to a CSI member or group that demonstrates exceptional commitment to CSI's certification programs through the recognition of their value by advocating, implementing, educating, developing, utilizing and otherwise supporting the programs. Recipient: Merlin "Gene" E. King, CSI.

Ben John Small Memorial Award: Presented to a Professional Member and Certified Construction Specifier who has attained special proficiency and outstanding stature as a specifications writer. Recipient: Anne Whitacre, FCSI, CCS.

Distinguished Service Award: Presented to a CSI member who has rendered distinguished service in the advancement of the Institute's mission or in its administration. Distinguished service is defined as notable and significant contributions at the chapter, region or Institute level that have furthered the mission of CSI, its standing in the industry or its image to the public. This award is one of the highest forms of recognition the Institute can bestow upon an individual. Recipient: Thomas D. Montero, FCSI, Member Emeritus, CDT.
