Tom Lanzelotti, FCSI, CDT®
Tom Lanzelottie was born and raised on Long Island, NY, and attended The Ohio State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture.
Upon his graduation, Tom returned to his New York roots taking his first job with a small mission-critical-focused firm, LRM Architect, where he honed his practical skills, leading to his architectural license.
|
In a serendipitous meeting at a local NYC food establishment, Tom was introduced to Gensler and joined the global architecture, design, and planning firm in June 1994. He shifted his focus from mission-critical facilities to corporate headquarters, where he became a go-to resource in the New York real estate industry for building evaluations and phased complex projects, playing a critical role in new building projects.
During his 31-plus years with Gensler, Tom has evolved from a project architect delivering high-quality, innovative projects to a firmwide technical leader focused on talent development, educating, and mentoring emerging professionals via real-life project situations and in-house learning tools and programs. He was promoted to principal in 2007.
Looking to expand his professional growth, network, and influence beyond his Gensler portfolio, Tom joined CSI as his professional organization of choice in June 2008 and since then has taken on many leadership roles and positions in the CSI Metro New York Chapter and Northeast Region. He is currently director from the Northeast Region on the CSI Board of Directors. He serves with the purpose of enhancing the membership experience and raising CSI’s profile in the AECO industry.
Tom has lived a career path built upon following his passions for self-improvement, the growth of emerging professionals, the elevation of his chosen profession, and the advancement of the industry.
