What You Said: New Year’s Resolutions for the Construction Industry

By CSI HQ posted 01-08-2019 09:37 PM

Happy 2019! From the CSI Community Forum, here are some of your top New Year’s resolutions for the construction industry:

“Anyone who has achieved the CDT certification is familiar with the ‘4 Cs of Specifications’ - Clear, Concise, Correct, and Complete.
I would like to propose a resolution for 2019 that the following ‘AEC 4 Cs of Design and Construction’ be implemented on every project - Collaborate (work together), Communicate (your intentions), Cooperate (assist each other), and finally, Celebrate (the successfully completed project)!”
Lee Ann Slattery CSI, CCPR, CDT, LEED AP
Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter

“More coordination in the plan and spec projects between Architects and Engineers, and with the construction team during construction, without either one of our two trades (A/E and Contractor) playing the blame game and being able to provide the owner with a fully coordinated building.”
David Lewis CSI
Saint Louis MO

“Coordination between manufacturers, installers, and contracts regarding the date of warranty start. Some are date of manufacture, some are date of installation, and the contract is the date of substantial completion. This is a mess for a Contract Administrator.”
Scott Bohne CSI, CCS, CCCA, CDT, AIA, NCARB
Architect
RIM Architects
