Greg Burke, AIA, is president of Gregory John Burke | ARCHITECT, PA in Vero Beach, Florida and vice president of AIA Florida. Born with twin birth defects that left two fingers and two toes missing from each hand and foot, he’s been an AIA member since 1984 and a practicing architect for three decades. He is also in his third year as a member of the AIA National Diversity Council, serving this year as Vice-Chair.

David Dodge, CSI, CDT

David Dodge is Vice President of Business and Code Development for McKeon Door Company. David has been involved in the construction industry since 1975. With an extensive background in project estimating and management and a bachelor’s degree in business management, David soon realized a great deal of success in building product marketing and sales. Within this venue he found his passion – building code development and architectural design compliance. Since 1988, he has assisted architectural firms in understanding and implementing the provisions of the model codes as they pertain to fire and life safety. His particular focus is on the fire door industry, promoting cutting edge technology to resolve code compliance challenges.

David is a corporate member of the International Code Council (ICC) and earned his Construction Document Technologist (CDT) from the Construction Specifications Institute. He has served on several ICC committees, both local, regional and national, for the adoption and implementation of the International Building Code throughout the US. He is a recognized speaker and instructor, teaching the fire and life safety provisions of the model codes to design professionals and regulatory officials. David is a certified CEU instructor under the ICC Education Provider program. As part of the McKeon Door Company team David draws on his 30-plus years of experience in the building code arena when assisting design professionals and product representatives with code and design compliance challenges.

Principal, Brooks + Sharpa

Jeffrey Huber, FAIA, ASLA, NCARB, LEED AP is a principal at Brooks + Scarpa and manages the firm’s south Florida office. Brooks + Scarpa is a multi-disciplinary practice that includes architecture, landscape architecture, planning, environmental design, materials research, graphic, furniture and interior design services that produces innovative, sustainable iconic buildings and urban environments. In addition to his role at Brooks + Scarpa, Huber is an Associate Professor of the School of Architecture at Florida Atlantic University in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

A distinguished architect and landscape architect, Huber’s work specializes on public realm projects that combine ecological, landscape, urban, and architectural design. Huber’s research, teaching, and professional work have garnered over 75 national design awards, including multiple from Progressive Architecture, The American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), American Architecture Awards, and the American Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA). His professional work has been published in hundreds of books and periodicals including Architect, Residential Architect, The Plan, The Plan Journal, Landscape Architecture Magazine, and Architectural Record.

Huber currently serves as a Strategic Councilor at AIA National and on the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Florida) Board. He received his Bachelor of Design in Architecture and Master of Architecture from University of Florida (Gainesville), and a Master of Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design from Florida International University (Miami).

Born in Asheville, North Carolina, Erica Kennedy graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a Bachelor of Art and a Bachelor of Architecture. Shortly after college, Erica realized her love for hotel design and the hospitality sector. She is now a Partner at ODA Architecture and Principal of the Hospitality Studio. The creative teamwork, relaxed style, and unencumbered energy at ODA result in loyal client partnerships. Erica thrives on business development, great client interactions and successful project completion. In 2021, she was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Hospitality Tourism Alliance. She is involved in many organizations including AIA, CSI, ULI, CREW, etc. In her downtime, Erica enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, reading, and volunteering.

Cherise is the Senior Specification Writer for RDH Building Science Inc. in both the US and Canada (she is still learning to spell in Canadian!) She is based in RDH’s Portland, Oregon office.

Cherise has experience with many facets of the project team in the built environment. She has worked mostly in architecture with stints in construction, MEP Engineering, and now building science.

Cherise is a CSI Fellow, recent recipient of the Hans William Meier Award for Innovation of Certification Programs, Past President and current Certification Chair of the Portland CSI Chapter and former Director-at-Large on the Institute Board among many other positions. She currently teaches the CSI CDT certification program and has had hundreds of students over the last 10 years.

Cherise is passionate about mentorship/young professional development, public speaking/education (300+ events over the last 10 years) and is particularly interested in improving project coordination and communication among all disciplines.

Cherise’s latest adventure is as the host of the ARCAT podcast “DETAILED”, project stories of challenges and triumph - www.arcat.com/podcast.

When Cherise isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, live music, the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, good whiskey and seeking to cross things off her “adventure list”!

Miguel Rodriguez, FAIA is a broadly experienced architect with over 38 years in the profession and licensed in several states. He is the founding principal of Rodriguez Architects, Inc. a 10-person firm, established in 1990 and located in Coral Gables, FL.

Mr. Rodriguez is a member of the Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design and Currently Chair of NCARB’s Region 3. He is a former Vice President of the American Institute of Architects and member of the National Architectural Accrediting Board.

Miguel received his professional degree from the University of Miami in 1981, where he taught Professional Practice and Construction Documents. He regularly presents continuing education seminars on Agreements, Professional Ethics and Practice, the Florida Building Code, and on Accessible design (ADA), nationally.

His active involvement with professional issues over 30 years builds on his expertise and has placed Mr. Rodriguez in a position of leadership nationally and internationally. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, a recognition of professional excellence which honors those architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession.

Christine "Tina” Subasic, PE, LEED AP is a consulting architectural engineer specializing in masonry and sustainable design based in Raleigh, NC. Ms. Subasic has provided technical support services, including standards development, educational seminars, and inspection services in the masonry industry for over 25 years. A frequent speaker on masonry and sustainability, she has addressed audiences in over 20 states. She is active in The Masonry Society where she served as the first female President. She has been a member of the TMS 402 Code Committee for over 15 years and has co-authored the veneer chapter in the TMS Masonry Designers’ Guide. Subasic also serves on ASTM Committees C15 on Manufactured Masonry Units, C12 on Mortar, and Committee E60 on Sustainability. Brent Williams is an serial entrepreneur who has built multiple companies within the construction marketspace. Nationally known as an speaker and educator on digital connectivity, Brent’s expertise targets the Social Media environment, the permission - based marketplace, connectivity within the design field and building personal brand identities and is currently the Director of Design for DesignFilm.com, an authorized distributor for 3M Architectural Finishes.

Brent began his involvement in CSI in 2004, quickly rising to leadership as President of the Knoxville Chapter in 2006-2007 and then moving on to service at the Region and Institute levels. During his service at the National level, Brent began teaching about deploying Social Media for the design community in 2008. The pinnacle of his CSI experience was the founding of CSINext, the Institute’s Virtual Chapter.

In addition to his business and CSI efforts, Brent is a lifelong, passionate cyclist who co-founded the Professional Bicycle Mechanics Association and enjoys racing his reproduction 1880’s era Penny Farthing Bicycle.

Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, Brent is married to Dr. Jeanne Williams and is father to five and grandfather to 3 rambunctious grandsons.
