Mr. Hayward served as a Senior Architect for several prestigious firms and has experience, involving over $2.6 billion in successful construction. This extensive experience includes a myriad of project types including government facilities, aviation projects, office buildings, hotels, high-rise condominiums, medical, convention centers, parking garages and recreation and sports complexes. Project size has varied with construction costs for a single project up to $350 million. This has included a number of governmental facilities constructed with fast tracked project schedules, utilizing design-build, design-bid-build, and Construction Management project delivery methods that were completed on time and within budget.
He has provided Architectural services through-out the SE United States for Aviation clients and local governments. Specific project management and project administration experience has included serving as both an Owner’s Representative/Project Manager, in addition to serving as the Architect of Record. This has involved the development of contracts, consultant selection, RFP/RFQ preparation and solicitation, QA/QC for design and construction phases, budget estimates, change order resolution, claims avoidance, planning, environmental mitigation, hazardous material abatement, zoning and permitting approvals, as well as coordination and management of several project team members, comprised of architectural/engineering consultants, contractors, suppliers, fabricators, and specialty consultants, on a variety of project delivery methods, including design-build and construction management.
A few of the significant projects that Mr. Hayward has worked on include: the 42-story Bank of America Office Tower in Tampa, the 500-room Grand Cypress Hyatt Regency in Orlando, The Urban Centre-II Office Building in Tampa, the Tampa International Airport Landside Terminal Renovation and Expansion, the North Charleston Coliseum, the New York Yankees Spring Training Facility, Tropicana Field Renovation and Expansion, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium, Suite Expansion and the famed Pirate Ship, the Buccaneers’ NFL Training Facility, the proposed 52-story Trump Tower Condo and river walk water front improvements in Tampa, the Clearwater/St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport Terminal Renovation and Expansion, the Esperia South and Tavira high-rise-condominium towers in Bonita Springs, Florida, and the proposed expansion and master plan for the Manatee County Convention Center.
He has served as the SE Region President for CSI (Construction Specification Institute), the CSI (National Board Treasurer) for back-to-back terms. He has been very active in teaching the CSI’s-Construction Document Technology (CDT) program for over seventeen years, and many of the students taking the CDT Boot Camps he has conducted have passed the CDT Certification exam. He has served on a number of volunteer Boards, including the Tampa Builders Exchange, the GT Suncoast (Tampa Bay) Alumni, and the Spinnaker Cove Association Board.
