GETTING YOUR HANDS DIRTY:
Digging into Specifications

In Class 2 of our Specs 101 series, you’ll start digging into the first stages of writing a specification.

Our first speaker, Carrie Gerstenberger, Associate Technical Specification Writer at Bassetti Architects, will teach us the “what” and our second speaker, Marc Chavez, recently retired but previously Deltek’s Director of MasterSpec, will teach us the “how.”

Carrie G
Carrie Gerstenberger will dive into an overview of project requirements, which is the dirt and gravel in this metaphor. She will explore how and why project requirements are developed, how to manage client expectations, how guidelines translate into tangible documentation, and the variances between private and public project work. You will get a taste of how project needs directly affect documentation and, when a client has the ability to modify the rules and regulations.
Next, Marc Chavez will show us how to use our metaphorical shovels – the tools needed to dig out and process our project requirements. He will teach us how to share non-graphic information, how to work with complexities of our industry, and how to use best practices to more efficiently deliver innovative project designs.

Join us for this great course with two amazing speakers!
