Affordable housing has endured many different iterations over the past several years as it strives to become the most inclusive possible. Discover how each of these milestones have helped to pave the way for a new kind of design in multifamily housing. Learn how Enriched Design is the next progression in this ongoing natural process. It proves to build housing that will not only serve a diverse set of people but will also stand the test of time as it adapts to changes in resident needs.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to define qualified allocation plans (QAP) and be able to identify the eligibility priorities and criteria for awarding federal tax credits to housing properties.
2. Participants will discover how to design for all ages and abilities and what regulations need to be met to utilize the space to its full potential while keeping in-line with ADA requirements.
3. Participants will explore universal design and how to reimagine space by breaking down the basic building blocks required to make designs universally accessible and in compliance with the American with Disabilities Act Accessible Guidelines (ADAAG).
4. Participants will be able to implement a call to action for enriched & adaptable design by being able to identify key adaptations for implementation to support a healthy living community and resident lifestyle in multigenerational housing.
