A Little Light Reading: Contractor's Guide to Specifications presented by Amy Baker

Construction specifications are assembled by design professionals to communicate product information, qualitative standards, and procedural requirements to the construction team. The resulting project manual, a contract document which can be several hundred pages long, takes time to break down and understand. This presentation is designed to help contractors effectively navigate construction specifications and understand where to find specific information on processes, materials, and quality expectations.

The program will focus on the creation of CURIS Design, the complexity of delivering a large healthcare project and how three competing firms can come together to deliver a successful project. CURIS Design, established in 2020, is a joint venture between BSA, CSO and RATIO into a single entity blending architectural design, healthcare planning and project management expertise focused on delivering exceptional quality in healthcare design. The joint venture will design and deliver the largest healthcare project in North America, the Indiana University Health Adult Academic Health Hospital Center.
