Now that everyone has received the word that the Due Date for Region Awards has been extended to May 1, Please take a minute to review the list of potential award nominations that can be submitted. I know sometimes in this fast paced working environment, that we don't always have time to review the whole section concerning awards and my have some that could be submitted but weren't just because they were unknown. Below is a list of the Awards:
1. Eugene Wetzel Award for Communications Excellence.
2. Region Certificate of Appreciation – Individual Award.
3. Region Certificate of Appreciation – Firm or Organizational Award.
4. Other Service Awards.
5. Region Most-Improved Continuing Publication Award.
6. Region Continuing Publication Award.
7. Award for Special Chapter, Region, or Institute Publication.
8. Award for Chapter Program or Seminar.
9. Technical Commendation.
10. Education Commendation.
11. Region Electronic Communications Award
12. People's Choice Awards.
We also have several Membership oriented awards that come from the Membership Committee as well as the "Spirit of Service" award selected by the Region President. And as always, any member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer) can present a special award for service to the Institute outside one of these nomination requirements.
Now that you know there are a bunch of Awards that can be given, please get with your Chapter Awards Committee, Chapter President, or four other members to nominate people for these Awards. Remember, recognition is the only form of reimbursement we have to give to those who serve the Chapter, Region or Institute.
