PPD (Preliminary Project Description/Project Planning Document)
Format is a narrative outline produced during pre-design and early schematic design, limited to building program and preliminary system descriptions. The committee will be working with proposals that seek to modify the existing CSI PPDFormat document to incorporate the redefined concept of PPD as a “Project Planning Document”. In addition, the group will address a proposal for the development of a companion guide to address how PPD Format can be used with other standards. This initiative is being led by Keith Robinson, FCSC FCSI RSW. PPD Format committee will meet monthly to review proposals in development and approve final language. Because PPD Format interoperates with other CSI standards, the committee may generate additional proposals for other standards committees in order to harmonize the standards.
Standards work is performed by conference call; work is also conducted using a shared workspace platform. Estimated time requirement: each month please expect 2 hours of meetings and an hour of independent work. Familiarity with CSI standards and how they are used is required. Direct experience using PPD Format alongside other CSI standards is ideal. Volunteers are recognized through CSI publications and communications for their involvement with the PPD Format revision.
