Please note! The November event is on the first Wednesday, one week early.Appropriate Use of Tools - Improving SpecificationsSpecifications are a tool to communicate non-graphical project information. This tool was designed to solve a specific set of problems and has remained largely unchanged for decades. But the industry is evolving daily and specifications are no longer serving the industry as well as they once did. Are we trying to use specifications to solve problems they were not originally designed to solve? Are today’s specifications failing to address the needs of the multiple delivery methods currently in use? During this program, we’ll identify the features designed into today’s specifications and the problems those features were designed to solve. We’ll then explore new problems not solved by current specification methods and some solutions that have been developed to address those unsolved problems. Different solutions will be required depending on the delivery method you are working within. Let’s solve these new problems and make specifications a better tool.
