Please join us for pizza and beer as we recap 2019 CONSTRUCT, the leading national AEC Education and Expo.
The presentation will begin with Beth Stroshane and Marc Chavez who are attending as feature presenters at CONSTRUCT. They will provide an abbreviated version of their presentations: Why Are Specifications so Hard? and Levels of Development (LOD) for Specifications Information.
Beth Stroshane, CSI, CCS, LEED AP - Managing Partner at Applied Building Information.
Why are Specifications so Hard?
Specifications have been described as a tool. Like many complex systems, the practice of specifications is better understood once it is broken into its component parts. Once the smaller parts are understood, it becomes possible to manipulate those parts to make the system function more smoothly.
Marc Chavez, FCSI, AIA, RELiAP, CCS, CCCA - Technical Director, Content at Deltek + Avitru.
Levels Of Development (LOD) For Specifications Information
Graphical-3D as well as 4 and 5D information is now an accepted part of any BIM. The Level of Development (LOD) document does not address organizing data here-to-fore included in traditional specifications. We want to help teams define the information needed at each level of development throughout the course of design. What information should be included in each of the levels?
PECHA KUCHA Following the presentations, Perry White, CSI CCPR, of PPG Protective and Marine Coatings and April Stokesberry, Architectural Liaison, of Duradek North West will speak in Pecha Kucha format.
Perry White will review his experience having attended CONSTRUCT for many years as a member of CSI (Past President of the Mt. Rainier Chapter and past NW Region Treasurer).
April Stokesbury will share her experience attending the conference not only for the first time but also as a new representative of the CSI Puget Sound Chapter as President-Elect.
If you have not attended CONSTRUCT before and are interested to learn more about why many in the AEC industry attend, there will be a short Q&A following the presentations.
