Chapter events are created and organized by volunteers. The Portland Chapter is always looking for new people who would like to share ideas and help out to keep the chapter vibrant and engaging. So, if you are looking for a way to improve your professional skills, network, and make new friends, this is the place for you. The chapter has numerous committees that cover a wide range of topics. Cherise Lakeside Chair
The Certification Committee serves as liaison with the Region Certification Committee and the Institute Certification Committee. The Committee promotes the Institute’s examination program within the Chapter. The committee contributes articles, awareness bulletins, and reports regarding certification as well as coordinates exam preparation. This committee is also responsible for running the Portland CSI scholarship for CDT and Advanced Test Candidates.
Mark Aasland and Jenn Thomas Co-Chairs
Our Committee organizes, publicizes and conducts Portland Chapter of CSI educational events, such as the Learning & Libations Series and occasional project tours. This includes publishing updated information about events and opportunities in The Predicator newsletter, managing the OLCC liquor licenses, as well as soliciting and managing educational event sponsorships. We thrive on bringing new ideas to fruition, so if you have a burning desire to influence our Portland design and construction community, contact our committee co-chairs with your thoughts.

Erica Bitterman-Ryon Chair
The Chapter has historically held a summertime golf tournament annually, with proceeds benefiting the Chapter scholarship program. The Golf tournament is typically a "scramble" style with teams/players up to 144. The Committee books players, gathers sponsors, arranges for raffle prizes, orders meals, handles registration and manages the event budget and event volunteers.
Industry Forum Committee

The Industry Forum Committee is responsible for all aspects of the Industry Forum event including venue, speaker(s), exhibitors, promotions, sponsorship, catering and AV. The event originally began as a Products Fair but has evolved to a 400+ attendee event that showcases an innovative keynote speaker in the design industry, 10-minute presentations on current topics related to the built industry, and product/service exhibition.
Membership & Orientation Committee
Lee Kilbourn and Dave Ingraham Co-Chairs
This Committee works together to establish membership goals, manage membership promotion and retention, maintain communication with region membership committee chairperson, and provide guidance and support to Chapter members by keeping them informed of membership activities. A sub-group of this committee also organizes new member orientation with the Program Committee held in the spring and fall, inviting and introducing new members to get involved and take advantage of member benefits.
Ali LaManna and Kourtney Strong Co-Chairs
This Committee is responsible for producing interesting, entertaining programs monthly. They schedule, promote, retain venue and caterer, plan topics and speakers and organize the monthly Chapter meetings, except for months where a special CSI event occurs such as Golf or Industry Forum. Programs committee meets monthly, typically on the third Wednesday of the month, check with the co-chairs for confirmation and location.

The Committee publicizes events and activities of the Chapter. The committee reports to the Chapter President and the Board and is responsible for publishing the monthly newsletter, website, social media channels, and solicits and manages advertising. This committee is responsible for promoting CSI to people who have never heard of it and is the Industry Liaison with other professional groups.
Emerging Professional Committee
Geoff Jenks Chair
The committee advocates for professionals with less than 10 years’ experience in the industry as well as students in construction-related fields of study at all levels of education within the Chapter area. They are responsible for working with other committees to make CSI events more EP friendly as well as plan specific EP events throughout the year.
This committee comprises of the President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and Immediate Past President. They will meet quarterly to discuss the direction the chapter is going, and to discuss any contractual or financial decisions and bring their solutions to the board for a vote.
60th Anniversary Committee

This committee will spearhead the planning for celebrating the 60th Anniversary in 2019, including but not limited to events, video memories, collecting historical items, then and now features, etc.
