Laser Scanning & Drone Imaging for As-Built Documentation

 View Only
When:  Feb 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 01:30 PM (CT)
Associated with  Minneapolis-St. Paul

Laser Scanning for As-Built Documentation empowers architects to design around actual building conditions; providing easy access to complete and accurate digital models of real world environments. This program will describe the technology used to generate a digital twin of real world structures and inform attendees how these methods can set up even the most complex projects for success.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe how Laser Scanning (LiDAR) technology & Photogrammetry work to document 3D building environments and produce highly accurate digital models.
  • Inform how the use of new data capturing methods can remove the variability of interpretation and human error from the process.
  • Define the industry standard formats and uses/deliverables that can be produced from Laser Scan & Photogrammetry documentation methods.
  • Illustrate how proper planning 3D laser scanning can provide accurate and complete data sets to assist in retrofitting, renovation, refurbishment or reconstruction of an existing space.
