Please join us for a presentation by David H. Nicastro, P.E., F.ASTM, CEO of Building Diagnostics, Inc.! Mr. Nicastro will present regarding façade access equipment for window washing, including OSHA regulations, and access systems.

AIA Learning Units are available for this presentation.The learning objectives for the presentation are as follows:
  • Understand the different types of equipment that can be used for façade access.
  • Understand the OSHA regulations that apply to these different façade access systems.
  • Understand the newest OSHA regulations, and why they are causing owners so much expense.
  • Understand the components of all systems that all users need to consider.
Mr. Nicastro is a licensed professional engineer specializing in durability and failure causation theory. He analyzes existing buildings and designs remedies. He is the founder of Engineering Diagnostics, which grew to be an Inc. 500 firm by 2000, and Building Diagnostics. He also founded The Durability Lab, a testing center housed at The University of Texas at Austin to study the durability of building components, identifying factors causing premature failure. Mr. Nicastro is the past chairman of ASTM Committee C24 on Building Seals and Sealants, and has published over 50 articles and books on durability and failure of building materials.

In addition, we will be taking nominations and voting for the upcoming year's CSI Austin Chapter Board Members!
