Pittsburgh Chapter: Are Your Projects Going Offsite?

When:  May 11, 2021 from 05:00 PM to 06:00 PM (ET)
Event Description:
While many have heard of modular and offsite construction, not many have had a chance to be a part of a project utilizing this method of project delivery. Sal Verrastro, President of Spillman Farmer Architects, will lead us through the various opportunities and barriers to using offsite construction. Sal assisted in the development of AIA’s Modular and Off-site Construction Guide and will provide us some insight on what it takes to make this method viable. Sal will compare the “real” benefits of modular construction versus traditional stick-built or panelized construction method. He will also identify various strategies and best practices to make modular design and construction successful in your project using various case studies as examples. Will you be using offsite construction on all of your projects in the future? Come find out the realities at this webinar!

Learning Objectives:
1.  Attendees will be able to incorporate offsite and modular design and construction methods on their projects
2.  Attendees will learn about how modular projects can contribute to sustainable design by reducing waste on construction projects
3.  Attendees will be able to determine if modular construction will be better than stick-built construction on specific projects and determine its impact on their design practice.
