CSI Practice Session:
February Session - Specifying Exterior Glass
CSI Learning Level:
Secondary: Construction Project Team Members
Writing a glass specification is a multi-step task, because
exterior insulating glass may pass through two or even three
manufacturers before it gets into the building. Join Elias Saltz
and Louis Medcalf in a discussion of how to approach the process of
specifying these different stages of fabrication.
- Base glass: clear, ultraclear, tinted.
- Low-E and pyrolytic performance coatings.
- Fabrication into insulating glass.
- Energy code requirements.
- Windborne debris resistance, blast resistance, and security
- Methods of glazing.
1.0 hour towards CDT or CCS credits (self-reported)
