Lecture Description:
Our earliest memories and influences help to establish a foundation for future thoughts on design. Over time as architects, we exercise our ideas into tangible form and continuously learn the value of our experience. Through a sequence of past and current projects, "Practicing" will demonstrate how the experience has honed our skills and continues to drive our design.

Lecture Learning Objectives:

-At the end of this lecture, participants will leave with a sense of how to conceptualize a project from an initial central thought to guide their design.

-This lecture will present ways of approaching a potential client with a portfolio of past built work and skills applied.

-This lecture will show how outside influences and references can inform a project from conception to execution.
-This lecture will present a body of work with varied building programs relaying the varying concerns of private, public and civic-minded architecture.

AIA members will receive 1 LU. To receive credit for attending, attendees must sign in at the AIA & CSI table, located near the entrance to the Cene Lecture Hall.
