Seminar: Significant Changes to the 2019 CA Building and Residential Codes

This seminar is a review of the significant changes in the new 2019 California Building Code and California Residential Code. The changes come from the International Code Council 2018 model codes and from 2019 amendments by California State Agencies like the State Fire Marshal, Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development and the Department of Housing and Community Development. These new codes went into affect throughout California on January 1, 2020. 

Presenter Steven Winkel is with The Preview Group, Inc., an architectural consulting firm that specializes in building code, accessibility and regulatory issues affecting designers. He has almost 50 years of experience as a license architect, civil engineer, landscape architect and certified access specialist. He is the author, with Frank Ching, of Building Codes Illustrated for John Wiley & Sons, now in its sixth edition. Steve has served for five terms on the Building Standards Commisssion.
