This course provides an overview of the technical and functional features of woven wire mesh and illustrates how its aesthetic qualities offer fascinating architectural solutions for interior and exterior designs. Participants will: (a) identify various types of mesh and examine the architectural applications they are best suited for, including facades and ceilings, as well as interior and exterior spaces; (b) discuss the benefits of woven wire mesh environmental and safety systems; (c) examine the applications of woven wire mesh that can improve a building’s level of sustainability and safety; and (d) discuss the functional and environmental values of woven wire mesh in terms of reduced waste onsite, recyclability, and durability.
