Akron-Canton CSI members and guests are invited to our February Chapter Meeting, a tour of the Summa Health Systems West Tower on the Akron Campus and a presentation by Olson Architectural Products, Inc. reviewing the Expansive Curvilinear Channel Glass Walls used.
The first portion of our chapter meeting will be the tour of Summa Health Systems West Tower. Participants are asked to lightweight boots and bring a hard hat (if you have one). You will walk through an unpaved area for a short distance. We will be walking up and down stairs, 5 flights in all. There is no elevator service.
The second portion of our chapter meeting will be dinner and a presentation by Adam Olson, of Olson Architectural Products, Inc. at Hasenstab Architects. This presentation will examine the structural properties and design benefits of channel glass wall systems and their contributions to building aesthetics and performance, as used in the West Tower.
