This course is an overview of standing seam metal roofing, from its early and historic uses to today's modern roll forming capabilities. The course will investigate the metal substrates available and the finishing process of those substrates. The course will identify typical modern applications for standing seam metal roofing and the associated engineering, testing and warranties.
Learning Objectives 
1-Examine the history of standing seam metal roofing and today's applications with the modern roll former capabilities.

2-Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of available substrates and the best finishing process to prevent fade and chalking, allowing long-term performance.

3-Clarify the differences between structural and architectural applications and engineering.

4-Identify the differences in true manufactures water tightness warranties and total system warranties, learning how to format an effective specification.
