The vision and endeavors of AEC professionals transforms the built environment and the products used sets the tone for how a building impacts those who occupy it, as well as the economic returns it provides to the owner. At the same time, stakeholders are expected to produce design deliverables within budgets that are increasingly constrained and project schedules that are ever tighter, while using new forms of project delivery. The team producing the Project Manual often bears the brunt of those industry dynamics and needs access to specification content that is not only detailed and accurate, but updated without delay whenever a standard is amended or a building product is changed or launched. That team also needs to know that the content they are using is created and maintained by people who have been in that situation themselves and cannot be waiting for updates to be approved elsewhere. When updating is completely automated, it eliminates the risk of issuing static documents and reduces cumbersome processes. Learn how a platform like this can provide everything needed to write accurate and clear specifications, so the project takes less of the time that was never actually there in the first place. A database content ensures that even when adding and removing specs, an office master is always current, accurate and easy to share. Specification creation needs to keep up with design technology, so now BIM integration, with its immersive, virtual user experience, can help specifiers and constituents achieve enhanced visibility and collaboration, all of these benefits available through one platform, with no need for Revit licenses or training.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Learn how architects, specifiers, engineers and owners can use databased specification software and content, linked to Revit models and BIM objects, to enable collaboration and improved project outcomes
  2. Understand the time and money efficiency advantages of a cloud-based specification creation solution
  3. Learn how to save time across every step of the planning, design and construction process, reduce costly errors and omissions, add and import your own specification content and to know you have the most up to date information, all in one place
  4. Integrating BIM and VIM into the design phase
