Challenges in HVAC Design - Designing with HVAC in Mind

  • Anticipating Equipment Placement while Designing. Learn what works and doesn’t and why. Should units be at roof, mechanical room, or on grade?
  • Anticipating Above Ceiling Requirements. Designing what works and doesn’t and why? Location of ducts, pipes, and chases.
  • The information HVAC designers need at different points in design. Are you using Revit. What are the load calculations? What is the system selection? What is the layout?
  • Anticipating upfront system cost, energy costs, and maintenance costs of the most commonplace systems.
This program has been recorded by the Mississippi Chapter CSI, an AIA CES Program Provider. If approved, the program will provide 1 AIA HSW Learning Unit, but at the time of publication approval is pending.
