Integrating Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings & Conventional Steel for Manufacturing

When:  Apr 27, 2023 from 05:00 PM to 06:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  Akron-Canton

RESCHEDULED FROM MARCH 23 to APRIL 27, 2023.

You're invited to join Akron-Canton CSI
for a hardhat tour of a manufacturing facility under construction for LG Chem North America that demonstrates the cost-effective combination of pre-engineered metal building with conventional steel support for process and equipment.

Pre-engineered metal buildings are inexpensive structures relative to other types of construction. While there are quite a few options available, they are limited in their ability to accommodate the complex requirements associated with supporting processes, equipment, and loads. As a part of this tour, participants will discuss how this project took advantage of the economy of a pre-engineered metal building for the envelope while integrating conventional structural steel to meet the greater flexibility required by the manufacturing process. Attendees must provide (and wear) their own standard PPE for the duration of the tour.

Afterward, attendees are invited to join us for dinner at Ray's Place in Kent.

Attendees receive 1 AIA CEU LU.
