Participants will compare and contrast various materials used for sound attenuation in commercial duct applications. Participants will learn about the various testing that materials undergo prior to commercial availability. Participants will also learn to separate facts from fiction regarding material use in various commercial / education / government facility use.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Compare acoustical performance for various materials used to absorb sound in metal duct systems.
  2. Identify claims related to health & safety of acoustically absorptive materials.
  3. Evaluate testing protocols for the health & safety of materials and their suitability for commercial application.
  4. Review factors that contribute to mold growth in duct systems and testing methods associated with mold.
