Industry Roundtable

This course will introduce lean project delivery as an operating system relative to the design and construction industry. Participants will learn the key principles that are foundational to lean and be introduced to collaborative tools and approaches to eliminate/reduce waste from their projects.

Continuing Education: 1.0 AIA CES LU


At the end of this presentation, participants will:
  1. Know the definition of Lean and the principles associated with a Lean operating system
  2. Be able to identify the principles and tools relevant to Lean Design and construction processes
  3. Be able to recognize various types of waste in design and construction and identify tools to reduce, minimize and/or eliminate waste
  4. Understand ways to increase collaboration and communication on projects through application of structured planning and system processes

Registration: Required by Friday, November 8.  Limited seating available on a first come basis. Complimentary to members and non-members.

In order to keep this event free to attend, lunch will not be provided.  Attendees are welcome to bring their own to have during this event. 


About Our Presenter:

John Zachara, Vice President at IFS (Integrated Facilities Solutions, Inc.), has more than 20 years of project management experience including budget phase through job completion in a variety of projects including commercial, retail, hospital, clinical, research, educational and religious facilities.  John is the lead member of a team offering program and capital budget management of a multiple site acute care healthcare organization and has completed hundreds of projects in various healthcare facilities.   John is an active member of the Lean Construction Institute Chicago Community of Practice and he was a member of the 1st Integrated Form of Agreement (IFOA) project in Healthcare in Chicago, setting the standard for how future projects should be built in the most collaborative way possible.
