Discussion on Elevators


Join us for a discuss elevator systems and current/emerging technologies. This will be an open format discussion on elevator systems, when/where to use them, and what could be changing in the future. We will also talk about LULA applications and limitations.

 

The discussion will be facilitated by Larry Nordin, AIA, CSI-CCS of Solomon Cordwell Buenz, and we will be joined by vertical transportation consultant, Ray Volk of Jenkins & Huntington, Inc..  Input is encouraged from all attendees.



Continuing Education: 1.0 AIA/CES LU

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the various elevator types – Hydraulic, Traction, Machine-Room-Less variations.
  2. Understand the different elevator operation types: selective-collective, group automatic with demand based dispatching, and destination based dispatching.
  3. Learn about the emerging technologies of elevators and how this will impact your future projects
  4. Review when and where LULA’s can be used

In person or webcast attendance is available for this roundtable.

Registration ends Monday, April 30 for priority member seating.  Limited seating available on a first come basis. Complimentary to members and non-members. Non-members requesting to attend will be added to a waiting list until registration end date. Notification of available non-member spaces is sent at least two business days in advance.  Those not able to attend in person will be sent webinar link prior to event.
