Specifier Roundtable: Specifying Sprayed Fire-Resistive Materials (SFRM)

When:  Oct 5, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM (CT)
Associated with  Chicago

Description

Specifying Sprayed Fire-Resistive Materials (SFRM): What's the binder got to do with it?

Do you ever feel like the master specifications that come ‘out of the box’ are TOO simple? For a product as critical to life safety as SFRM is, you want to be certain that your specification covers all the performance bases in a clear, concise, correct, and complete manner. For this roundtable, we will focus on structuring a specification to address the critical performance requirements of SFRM.

Please come prepared for discussion on your experiences working with SFRM specifications. Input from all is encouraged.

Facilitated by:
Melissa Gibson, NCARB, CSI, CCCA, LEED AP BD+C | Associate Vice President and Specifier | Epstein
Randall Chapple AIA, SE, CSI, CCS, LEED AP | Associate Principal and Director, Specifications and Material Research |Goettsch Partners

  3. Identify and discuss the applicable code requirements, including testing and inspections, regarding SFRM.
  4. Review different approaches for specifying SFRM versus the ARCOM Masterspec.
