Summary of Chapter Events

CSI Chicago's programming year runs from September through May, where we will hold up to 5 events per month  June, July, and August are typically reserved for planning the next program year but still offer at least one roundtable discussion per month.  The majority of our education programs provided AIA/CES continuing education credits, including opportunity for HSW credits also.

Chapter Meetings

Top industry leaders and knowledgeable presenters offer outstanding technical programs with AIA/CES Learning Units. They help members share real world solutions and better understand the responsibilities of each member of the project team. Typically held on a Tuesday enveing and includes dinner.



Roundtables are opportunities for members to gather with a small group of typically 10-20 attendees to discuss timely topics and earn learning units toward state requirements and professional accreditation. The format is bring-your-own lunch in a conference room setting, with RSVP’s required. Typically held during the lunch hour.

Specifier’s Roundtables are a forum for specifiers and architects to discuss specification topics, exchange ideas and share lessons learned.

Technical Roundtables are offered on topics geared toward architects, engineers, specifiers, and manufacturer representatives who are involved in the product category.

Industry Roundtables feature topics the develop skills and offer industry knowledge that is not product specific. It is beneficial to all design professonals and manufacturer representatives.

Meet the Reps Roundtables allow attendees to get to know local representatives and learn about product selection and applications. Each month focuses on a new topic. Open discussion format with attendees.

Summer Series Roundtables held once a month in June, July and August to provide opportunity for summer education programs.

Building Enclosure Event
Year after year this event has featured expert national and international building enclosure industry practitioners and researchers. Each year architects, contractors, engineers, manufacturer representatives, owners, project managers, specification writers, and other design and construction professionals have benefited from the technical knowledge presented. Typically held in February.
Representatives from top design & construction firms and high-level product manufacturers’ representatives will be brought together for a day of education and exchange of technical knowledge. Through pre-arranged one-on-one/eye-to-eye meetings, CSI will provide the platform for construction product manufacturers to get to know senior decision makers. These 20 minute sessions will give Chicago’s design firms an opportunity to obtain cutting edge, personalized product knowledge and develop beneficial relationships with the most innovative and capable suppliers in the region. Certification Programs and Study Classes

CSI is renowned in the industry for its rigorous certification programs for professionals seeking to improve their knowledge of accurate and concise construction documents. The chapter also holds a 10-week study class to prepare candidates for

Social and Networking Events

Networking occurs at all the CSI programs where members share project leads, professional advancement opportunities and technical knowledge. Social get-togethers are held to share common interests and these events also often help fundraise for the chapter's current give-back initiative.
