2019_09_Chater_Meeting_-_Thank_you.png120+ attendees gathered on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Maggiano’s in Chicago for our September Chapter Meeting. It was a great night of networking and knowledge sharing.

The night lead off with our President Andrea Baird welcoming our members and guests. Andrea recognized our 27 new members since the last chapter meeting and provided a brief update on our membership growing to 318 members and reviewed our upcoming events. She also highlighted that 2020 CSi2eye applications are opening on Friday 9/27/19.

Jennifer Friedland, our programming committee chair, then introduced our speakers for the night from Related Midwest, Don Biernacki, Senior Vice President of Construction and Michael Pfeffer, Vice President of Architecture. Don and Michael’s presentation focused on the current development plans for Chicago’s 78 neighborhood. The 78 is a 62-acre blank canvas in downtown Chicago bordered by Clark Street, Roosevelt Road, 16th Street and the Chicago River. The 78 will set a new standard for mixed-use developments. Drawing inspiration from local surroundings, the art, architecture and design elements of The 78 will establish a powerful sense of place and belonging. The presentation focused on the vision, steps, timeline and phases of the project while addressing the players and challenges involved in a development of this magnitude. For more information on this project, visit www.78chicago.com.

Thank you to everyone who attended to make this another successful Chapter Meeting event. Special thanks to Don Biernacki and Michael Pfeffer and our tabletop sponsors – Architectural Woodworking Institute, Emseal, General Shale Arriscraft, Kuraray.
