Reiner Pligge is no stranger to the A.E.C. industry. He has over 35 years of experience and is well known in the industry and he is a member of AIA, Building Enclosure Council, and CSI Chicago to name a few. Reiner is a Chicago native graduating from Lane Tech High School before going on to the University of Illinois – Chicago Circle (now UIC). This almost didn’t happen! He had accepted a full-ride Basketball Scholarship to play Point-Guard at Kansas in 1972, but then changed his mind when the Coach said that he could not play basketball and be an Architecture major. While attending U of I Chicago Circle, an instructor realized that Reiner was very gifted in Architecture and encouraged him to become an Architecture Apprentice in lieu of completing college. His architectural knowledge was due to his completion of a rigorous Architecture program at Lane Tech. This program included classes such as Wood Shop, Electric Shop, Foundry, and House Framing. In his spare time, Reiner is an avid volunteer. Donating his time to efforts such as the Hurricane Harvey recovery in Houston in 2017. He was one of the first five Emergency Relief Vehicles to go on "Search and Feed" missions. He was out on the "front-line" with Sugarland Kitchen, conducting routes twice daily, loaded with 500, 3-course, healthy, fresh meals and desperately needed life-saving supplies. Family holds a huge place in Reiner’s heart. This is his favorite place to spend his time. His family enjoys camping, hiking, and nature. They have visited almost every National Park in the United States.
