Brian Kauke started his career over 20 years ago in the advertising industry. After 13 years, he decided he needed a change of scenery and made the switch to go into the construction industry as a sales professional in the resinous flooring industry. He spent six years selling and managing projects in the flooring industry before moving to his current role at Keene Building Products.
After hearing many recommendations from colleagues, he knew he must join CSI. His goal as a member is to continue to learn new things in the industry and network with the architectural community so he can better understand what industry professionals are looking for from manufacturers.
Looking back at his project, the new IKEA distribution center in Joliet is the most memorable. It was a large project that he was involved with from start to finish in which he worked closely with the architect and General contractor. This reinforced his belief in team work. Working as a team from the onset really helped everything run smoothly.
He encourages younger professionals to spend as much time in the field as they can watching all phases of the construction process. It’s amazing how fast one can learn when they see things in real time and can ask questions on the spot.
Brian enjoys life in St. Charles with his wife (Kristen) and two sons (Ben and Andrew). He is an avid Chicago sports fan excluding the White Sox. He is happiest when he is outdoors biking, hiking, kayaking, or fishing.
