CSI-Connect Community Conduct Rules (“Rules”) 

The CSI-Connect Community (“Community”) brings CSI members together to share knowledge, make connections, and increase understanding of and influence in the commercial construction industry. CSI (“we”) provide the following Rules to help you garner more responses to your postings (“Postings”) and to help build a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for the benefit of all Community members. These Rules supplement but do not replace the CSI Terms of Service.

You agree to:

Always:
  • Set up your signature block to identify yourself as author of the Posting. 
  • State concisely and clearly the topic of your Posting in the subject line.
  • Post only materials and content that add to the body of knowledge.  
  • Post only to the most appropriate Community lists or libraries rather than spamming several lists or libraries with the same Posting.
  • Warn other Community members of lengthy messages either in the subject line or at the beginning of the message body. 
  • Use caution and be kind when discussing people, products or services. .  
  • Remember that other Community members have the right to reproduce Postings unless you specify otherwise.
  • Recognize and respect that the Community is comprised of professionals with varying backgrounds, education and experience.
Never Post:
  • Anonymously.
  • Defamatory, abusive, profane, libelous, threatening, vulgar, sexually explicit, rude, offensive or illegal content. 
  • Anything that violates the intellectual property or privacy rights of anyone.
  • Challenges or attacks on others.
  • Information about CSI certification exam content, exam questions (content or format) or exam scoring. You may discuss CSI certification exam preparation resources and exam scheduling.
  • Political messages that do not pertain to pending or current legislation directly impacting the construction industry. 
  • Anything that encourages or helps members agree, expressly or impliedly, to fix prices, to boycott another's business or to violate antitrust laws.
  • Commercial messages, sales pitches or job offerings.
Acknowlege that we may reject any Posting at any time and for any or no reason. Usually for the:

First violation, we will:
  • Remove the problem Posting. 
  • Notify you and suggest how you can avoid future violations. 
Second violation, we will:
  • Remove the problem Posting.
  • Review, for the next 30 days, each of your proposed new Postings before those are shared with the Community. 
Third violation, we will:
  • Remove the problem Posting.
  • Suspend you for six months from a Community or Communities.
Continued violations may result in permanent removal from the Community or Communities.
